Fire Performance FAQs

How does Fire dancing work?

Fire performance involves props with kevlar wicks that are dipped in fuel and burned while the tool is being being spun, tossed or twirled. These techniques are combined with dance and movement to create a visually stunning performance. Our fire dancers are fully insured and required to be highly skilled with a deep understanding of fire safety in order to avoid injury and accidents.

are fire performances kid friendly?

Like any of the acts that Flowbox offers, fire performance can be adapted to a family friendly environment. Kids go crazy for fire dancing! We also offer adult oriented fire shows. Our artists really know how to go with the flow to suit the needs of your special event!

Is fire a good fit for my event?

At least an 8’ X 8’ outdoor space free from obstructions or flammable objects is required for a single fire dancer. If your event is on private property, then permission from the property owner is required. If your event is in a public space, then a permit and/or approval by the local fire marshal may be required. Rules and regulations vary depending on the location of the event. In some cases, LED performance is a better fit.
